Alpkit is one of our favourite brands because we think they make great kit and importantly we share their values in supporting people to get outdoors and have, be good to the environment and to give back.

Open Water Swimming:
We will meet at Thames Young Mariners at 10am
As it is February, and some of you may be new to it, we're planning for this to be more of a dip than a swim. This swim will be guided by Jude and Paul, both experienced swimmers, Open Water Swim Coaches and lifeguards. They will be on hand to offer top tips for winter swimming, why it is so good for us body and soul and will set the bar for how quickly getting dressed post swim can really be! The emphasis is very much fun and eating the homemade cake afterwards.
Even if it is a sunny day, please dress as if you are expecting a blizzard. Plenty of loose fitting clothes, a woolly hat, gloves and something to swim in. Talking of which, swim skins (in your swimming trunks or costume) or suits (in a wetsuit), it is entirely up to you.
We'll also have free coffee/tea and snacks available back at the store post-swim too where Jude and Paul will be about to chat about all things swimming and answer any questions you may have.
**This event is weather dependant - if we've had previous nights of heavy rain and the water levels are unsafe this event will be postponed**
